The customer had various leaks in their home, as the roof was on a property in a conservation area, the roof had to be replaced with a Metal roof to replace a lesser quality metal roof already installed. The leaks had occurred, due to the existing roofing system not being suitable for the low pitch roof. In addition, the customer had light tunnels, providing their bathroom and hallway with a source of light via the roof. These where not a sufficient enough light source. The roof had a 4kW solar panel system installed already on the roof which would have to be reinstalled, with new brackets to suit the new roofing system.
The solar panels, light tunnels and existing metal sheets on the roof were removed. The whole roof was sheeted with 9mm OSB board, a breathable membrane and then counter battened, as there was none in place under the existing sheets. Full length, bespoke, made to measure, Plastisol Coated Steel Sheets were installed using our Metal Re-Roof Cladding System, in the colour of Anthracite Grey.
Due to the architectural complexity of the roofing shape, the sheets were styled to match the flow of the roofs shape. New polycarbonate Roof light windows were installed over the bathroom and the hallway, giving both spaces amazing natural light, with ventilation to the up stand, aiding with any condensation. The solar panels where reinstalled with appropriate brackets that would not damage the roofing sheets. Flashing were fitted around the roof giving it a full fresh look. The property is now watertight with more natural light.
