Metile Roofing System | Forfar
What was the issue:
The customer contacted us as they had purchased a home with a prefab roof and were completing a full refurb on the home. The prefabricated metal and tin roofs are often long-lasting roofs however over time they become eroded, making them unsightly and prone to leaks. Most of these roofs are upwards of 60 years old and in dire need of an upgrade.
How we resolved it:
The system installed was our Metile Roofing System, this is a system using Metal roofing sheets, with a tile profile, making the metal roof appear tiled. Timber batons were then fitted into the metal purlins, of the existing roof, enabling cross batons to be fitted. The surface of the roof is then layered with cladding insulation. Bespoke, made to measure, Plastisol coated Steel Metile sheets, were then installed across the whole roof, in the colour of terracotta, to match the customers window facings. As the property was a Gable End, the side of the property was cladded, with Bespoke, made to measure, Plastisol coated Steel box profile sheets, to tie the look together. A custom ridge cap was fitted to the top of the roof and Plastisol coated Steel Edging Trims were fitted around the roof to give it a final finish. The roof was completely revitalised and is now watertight.
Due to the architectural complexity of the roofing shape, the sheets were styled to match the flow of the roofs shape. New polycarbonate Roof light windows were installed over the bathroom and the hallway, giving both spaces amazing natural light, with ventilation to the up stand, aiding with any condensation. The solar panels where reinstalled with appropriate brackets that would not damage the roofing sheets. Flashing were fitted around the roof giving it a full fresh look. The property is now watertight with more natural light.
