The customer contacted us as they had multiple Portacabin units joined together, that had multiple leaks and rotten timber in the roof. The business used the Portacabins as office blocks outside of the company warehouse. The existing roof was Felt, as the felt was over 5 years old, it had multiple cracks and gaps in the joins which had caused the leaks, and the rotten timber.
How we resolved it:
A Firestone Fully bonded system was installed. The first priory was to replace the rotten timbers. The felt was cut out at the rotten timbers and they were replaced accordingly to ensure the roof was structurally sound. The leaking roofs were decked with OSB boards to create a solid base structure. The Firestone EPDM was installed over all of the roofs and overlapping only on the up stand to ensure there was no joins in the rubber, this offers maximum security in the building being watertight. Finally, the outside of the structure was framed with Plastisol Coated Steel Flashings, to ensure maximum protection from the elements and give the roof a finished look.
