Dorma Firestone EPDM Fully Bonded System | Stirling, Stirlingshire
What was the issue:
What was the issue: The customer contacted us, as they had noticed water marks on their ceiling, and were unsure if they had a leak or if this was caused by another source. Upon inspection from one of our surveyors, it was clear the existing felt roof had begun failing. This is a common issue on Dorma roofs as the felt is installed in strips, water gains access between the joins, in addition to the felt cracking due to rapid temperature changes.
How we resolved it:
A Firestone EPDM Fully Bonded System was installed. The first step was to remove the bottom two rows of tiles, this is to allow the rubber to be fitted onto the main roof and ran onto the flat roof in a single sheet. This is important as the integrity of the flat roof Dorma is highly dependent on the integrity of the main roof.
Once the tiles are removed, the Dorma roof is sheeted with OSB board, and the Firestone rubber membrane is fitted. Finally, the tiles are refitted and the Dorma roof finished with black Plastisol Coated Steel Edging Trims and is now watertight and upgraded.
