Flat Firestone Rubber Roof | Bishopbriggs
What was the issue:
The customer had a felt roof that had water coming into their home, through various cracks in the felt. The roof was a flat roof extension, with the kitchen in the area below the roof. The leaks were causing undue stress and the customers had established that felt was not a suitable option for them going forward. They reached out to us, as they were an existing customer, having already had an Overcladding installation completed on their garage.
How we resolved it:
We installed a Firestone EPDM Fully Bonded system to the flat roof extension. A deep raggle had to be cut into the wall, above the roof, to prevent any water ingress from that area. This allows the rubber to be run into the wall instead of stopping at it.
The roof is sheeted with OSB board, providing a smooth surface area, onto which the Firestone EPDM membrane is installed in one sheet providing a seamless finish. As Firestone Rubber is so durable and can cope with the weather changes, the material won’t crack, and the roof is now watertight. The roof is finished with black Plastisol Coated Steel Edging Trims, giving the whole roof a perfect finish.
